Edith J. Casola, age 94, of Venice, FL, died on November 18, 2014. She was born in Manhattan, NY on August 16, 1920 and came to Florida from Teaneck, NJ in 1982. Edith was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was full of vim and vigor and always ready to go out on a moment's notice. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and card games, especially ""May I"". Edith will also be remembered as a very charitable person. She is survived by her daughters Carol of Lakewood, NJ and Judy of Racine, Wisconsin; sons Salvatore of Brentwood, CA, Michael of Morro Bay, CA, and Peter of Imperial, MO; brother Victor of Orange County, CA; and 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Salvatore. The family would like to extend a special thank you to special friends Bill and Maryann and caregivers Dori, Debbie, Tammy and nieces. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Epiphany Cathedral on Saturday, November 22nd at 11 AM in the Parish Hall. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to Tidewell Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
