Shirley Hodges DelVillan Steiding, 83 was called to be with the Lord on November 4th, 2014. She was born on February 28, 1931 to John and Evelyn Hodges in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Kent State and became a kindergarten teacher in Cleveland, Ohio where she taught for over 30 years. Shirley married Eugene DelVillan and moved to Venice in the early 1980's. Shirley was a long time member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and most recently Harvest Chapel Church. Shirley met the love of her life, Perry Steiding and they were married in July 2012. Shirley has many lifelong friends and always had a smile to share. She brought joy and happiness to those around her. Shirley leaves her loving husband, Perry K. Steiding of Venice, her step-sons and their families, Marvin K. Steiding (Candace ), Ken Steiding (Gail), Wayne Steiding (Krista). She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene DelVillan, her parents John B. and Evelyn M. Hodges, and her brother John B. Hodges, Jr., MD. In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota Fl 34238. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 pm at the Harvest Chapel Church (Venice Adventist Building) 2375 S. Seaboard Avenue, Venice FL.
