Jim died suddenly at his home in North Port, FL on October 23, 2014. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 21, 1944 to Marjorie and Bernard Stachowski. Jim was employed for 37 years at Chrysler Jeep until his retirement in 2001 where he had been a union steward and later worked in management. Jim served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and was very active in all veterans' organizations. He was a 32nd degree mason and active in the Moose Lodge. He served as president of the directors in the Harbor Isles Community in North Port, FL and also served 2 terms as the president of the Willow Beach Community in Port Clinton, Ohio. Jim was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his summers along Lake Erie in Ohio. He also was an excellent bowler and loved card games. He is survived by his wife Dora Lee (Dodie) and his children Paul Dunmire of Port Charlotte, FL and Sandra Dunmire of Corpus Christi, Texas, and grandson Dayne Dunmire. He is also survived by two sisters Suzanne Morris (Art) of Toledo, OH, Debra Nickles (Jim) of Lees Summit, MO and a brother John Stachowski (Kathy) of Denver, CO. A memorial service will be held in Harbor Isles, North Port, FL at a later date. Also a service will be held in the summer of 2015 in Port Clinton, Ohio. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
