Lorraine Esther Hurst, 86, of North Port, Florida passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014. Lorraine was born on April 25, 1928 in Ishpeming, MI but spent most of her life in Milan, MI. She graduated from Milan High School, attended Indiana University, and then raised her family in Milan. When she retired from Milan Screw Products she & her husband moved to La Casa in North Port, FL. They continued to visit friends & family in Milan for many years. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Norman Symons, son Mark Schultz & stepson Hollis ""Hap"" Hurst, Jr. Lorraine will be deeply missed by Hollis Hurst, her husband of 41 years, her children & stepchildren: Thomas (Jane) Schultz, Jill (John) Meissner, Debbie Schultz, Tracy (Karen) Hurst, & Tina (Kevin) Davis. One of Lorraine's favorite roles was that of ""Grandmother""; she is survived by 15 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her extended family & many friends. A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held in October in Milan, MI. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements.
