Catherine (McNulty) Scimone, 92, of Venice, FL passed away on August 26, 2014 in Venice. Kay was born on 10/9/1921 in Malden MA, daughter of Ethel and Thomas McNulty. Survived by her son, Geoffrey, and his wife Nancy Scimone of Nokomis. Daughter-in-law Melody (Cushing) Scimone of Wilton CT, grandchildren, Stephen (and his wife Margaret) Scimone of Burlington VT, John (and his wife Meghan) Scimone of Great Falls VA, David (and his wife Lyndsay) Scimone of Manhattan, NY, and Katelyn Scimone (and her husband-to-be Mitch McCaffrey) of Sarasota FL. Also survived by her 3 great-grandchildren Lilah, Graham, and Hudson. Kay was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Stephen A. Scimone, son, George S. Scimone, brothers, Al, Tom, and George McNulty, and sister Sue (McNulty) Glowik. As a youth, she captained many of her school athletic teams and was the first female to lead the Marching Band at Malden High School in 1939. Catherine was the Past President of the Malden Emblem Club which supported many scholarships, and Past President of the Golden Beach Homeowners Association. She always had the ability and personality to be both a leader, as well as a supporter, when needed by many organizations. Kay and Steve were so often at the hub of the activity when the extended family, including 20 nieces and nephews often visited the ""lake house"" in Amesbury, MA. Kay will be interred beside Steve at the Sarasota National Cemetery, at a later date.
