Therese B. Kalo, age 86, of Englewood, Florida, passed away on August 9, 2014. She was born on April 21, 1928 in Lorain, Ohio. Therese moved to Englewood 24 years ago from northeast Ohio and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood. She enjoyed quiet time, cooking and was an avid reader. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, John of 66 years. She enjoyed being with her children, extended family and all of her friends. She also is survived by her children; Kathy Wilson of Mentor, Ohio, James Kalo of Nokomis, Florida, Janet Kalo (Charlie) Bengel of Alexandria, Virginia, Joyce Kalo (Jeff) Formanek of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Christine Kalo (Jim) Casamento of Springfield, Virginia and Ken (Kim) Kalo of Cincinnati, Ohio. Therese also leaves behind fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Robert Kalo. His partner, Joan Nemeth of Novelty, Ohio survives him. A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grove City on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
