Martha M. Balmert, age 93, of Venice, FL, died on June 20, 2014. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 3, 1921, and came to Venice in 1989 from Pittsburgh, PA. Martha attended The Ohio State University and St. Mary of the Springs in Columbus, Ohio. She was an active volunteer with the Venice Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her husband, Albert, of Venice; daughter Molly Balmert Marchand (Philip) of Nokomis; sons Michael (Kathleen) of Dublin, Ohio, Peter (Marcia) of Mars. PA, David (Margaret) of North Huntingdon, PA, and William (Karen) of Greensburg, PA; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, June 25th, 1 PM at Epiphany Cathedral. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Epiphany Cathedral, 350 Tampa Avenue, Venice, FL 34285.
