Joseph E. Renshaw, 76, of Venice passed away February 27, 2014. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife and lifelong companion Jean Renshaw, an example to his children, and he lived to spoil his grandchildren. He was born in St. Louis, MO and moved to Venice 30 years ago as the Vice President of Marketing for London Group International, and then retired here. He was an active member of Jacaranda Country Club and a passionate golfer, fisherman, and woodworker. He was a great teacher and coached baseball, soccer, and softball for his kids and others. He was a voracious reader of history, crime novels, and trivia books, and was well-known and loved for his sense of humor. He loved traveling extensively around the world and across the U.S. and made instant friends wherever he went. He is survived by Jean, his loving wife of 57 years, sons Kevin of Ft. Worth, TX and Steven of Oxnard, CA, daughters Deborah Renshaw of Grosse Pointe, MI and Kathleen Mantha of Ann Arbor, MI, 10 grandchildren, and his twin brother James of St. Louis, MO. A Mass celebrating the life of Joe Renshaw will be held at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice at 11:00am on Thursday, March 6th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 6400 Minnesota, St. Louis, MO, 63111, a charity that Joe supported. The world is a better place because he was in it, and a poorer place with him gone. Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel is caring for arrangements.
