Bruce Clinton Mothorpe, 89, of North Port, FL, formerly of Bloomfield Hills, MI passed away February 17, 2014. Bruce was born November 14, 1924 in Ontario, NY to Julia (Root) and Ralph Clinton Mothorpe. He was a WWII Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was an Engineer in Charge of decorative tooling for 43+ years at General Motors, having retired in 1983. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Edith; daughter, Sharon (Donald) Clark of North Port, FL; sons: Ronald (Cathy) Mothorpe of Berkley, MI; Dale (Carolyn) Mothorpe of Waterford, MI; Douglas (Barbara) of Port Charlotte, FL; sister, Donna (Gordon) Maycumber of Central Square, NY; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sawyer Fuller Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements for burial in Rochester, MI at Christian Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donations may be made to your favorite charity.
