John Henry LaFrance
March 28th, 1925 - February 6th, 2014
John H. LaFrance, 88, died February 6th and now joins his beloved wife Dorothy May Burgess. John and Dot enjoyed their retirement very much and what made their day was sitting at the jetty watching the boats come in and the sunset. John lived the past 23 years in Venice, FL; previously he was a long-time resident of Hudson and Chatham, MA. He enjoyed fishing, boating and a good book. John served in the Marines during WWII before working as a foreman at Raytheon and GM. He retired from the Water Dept. of Hudson, MA. John leaves behind his daughter Diane and her husband Stephen Smith of Hudson, MA; his step daughters Paula and her husband Jack Merloni of Southborough , MA, and Susan and her husband Butch Cataldo of St. Petersburg, FL; step sons Jack Gagen of Nokomis, FL, and Richard Gagen and his wife Irene of Millis, MA. He also leaves two sisters Dorothy Young of Sarasota, FL , and Lucille Cain of Wayland, MA, and many cousins , nieces and nephews. John enjoyed 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Their pictures are all around the house. He is predeceased by his brother Donald of DeFuniak Springs, FL . Services will be in Massachusetts at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in memory of John LeFrance to the Hospice of your choice.
