Emma Jean Ballentine, 71, of Venice, FL was called to be with The Lord, February 5, 2014. Emma Jean was born August 3, 1942 in Newport News, VA, the last child to Lucille (Jackson) and Judd Colles Flowers. Emma Jean lovingly cared for her parents. Emma Jean was an EKG technician at Venice Regional Medical Center for 16 years. She was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Venice where she was a devoted pre-school teacher and also involved with children's ministries for 20 years. She loved Venice and being able to ride her bike. Survivors include her husband, Rev. George Ballentine; her beloved two sons: David Carter Ballentine of Stockholm, Sweden and John Michael Ballentine of Venice, FL; and her precious two grandchildren: Maxwell and Julia; niece, Susan N. Redden of Santa Fe, NM. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 PM, Sunday, February 9 at First Baptist Church of Venice. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, 312 Miami Avenue, Venice, FL 34285. All those who knew her, loved her, and her sweet spirit was evident to all.
