Ethel Lorine` Rudd
November 6th, 1920 - February 4th, 2014
Ethel Lorine Rudd, 93 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at her daughter's home in Venice, FL. Born November 6, 1920 in Middlesboro, KY, Ethel was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Lillie (Bussell) Boldin. Ethel along with her family moved to Monroe in the 1920's. Ethel attended Monroe High School. Ethel married William L. Price in Monroe, after his death in August of 1942, Ethel then married Charles A. Rudd on March 17, 1945 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe. Sadly, Charles preceded her in death on April 7, 1999. Ethel was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a past member of The Elks Lodge, The Moose Lodge, and The Monroe Golf and Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf. Ethel also enjoyed traveling and ceramics. Ethel was a wonderful homemaker and loved spending time with family and friends. Ethel is survived by two loving daughters: Edna (Nicholas) Rohan of Venice, FL., and Donna (Jay) Overmyer of Monroe, MI, 10 cherished grandchildren, 28 treasured great grandchildren and 8 treasured great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, Ethel was preceded in death by her son: William Price, an infant daughter: Hazel Price and three brothers: Elgin, Ervin, and Ernest Boldin Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI 48161, 734-241-4600, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Evans Bentley pastor of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at LaSalle Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sarasota Hospice or St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
