Finzar, Jan Robinson also known as ""Rob"" and ""husband"", 57, of George Town, Grand Cayman formerly a resident of Venice Island, FL lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, January 5, 2014 Jan was born in Buffalo, NY on October 1, 1956 to Jack and Betty (Federoff) Finzar. He grew up in Geneva, NY and relocated to FL in his early 20s. Jan was employed in Venice, FL as a bartender at the Venice Yacht Club and The Sand Trap. He played league billiards out of The Green Diamond, one of his favorite past times and earning him the ability to compete internationally in Las Vegas, NV one year. He is predeceased by his brother, John Finzar (guitarist, The Bob Colson Band and Blue UFO in New England) in 2002; his maternal and paternal grandparents and his in-laws, Sandy and Edith Angelo. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Angelo Finzar; his son, Thomas David Solesbee, his parents, and 2 wonderful and loving sisters; Lyn (Joe) Finzar Perry of Waterloo, NY and Beth (Ralph) Finzar Pope of Fairfax, VA and his niece, Kathie. Jan is one of the most loving and compassionate souls that God has placed on this earth. He had many wonderful and caring friends each one of whom was so very special to him. Husband was an independent and free spirit who focused on the positive side of issues, worked to resolve differences and openly showed concern and care for his friends. In his honor and memory, he would ask all to show kindness and forgiveness to one another as that would be the greatest tribute of all. Jan and his wife Nancy are forever grateful to Dr. Komal Lawrence and Dr. Stephen Gay, of ChrissieTomlinsonMemorialHospital; Cayman Islands Hospice and Cayman Pharmacy for the love, care and dignity they showed us both. Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Tomlinson for their support and care during this difficult time in our lives. We are thankful to family and friends for their encouraging thoughts and prayers. We are particularly grateful for our dear, dear friend, Jim Diana for his support, love, and the time he spent in Grand Cayman with husband - we asked so very much of him and he so willingly gave of his time. A memorial service will be held at 6:00PM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cayman Hospice, P.O.
