To view a LIfeTribute, click on the link: http://videos.lifetributes.com/373748 Dr. William Byrne, 83, of Nokomis Florida, formerly of Amery, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Feb 11, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet, six children and their spouses: Jonathan (Paula), David (Julie), Tracey (Brian), Erin (Andreas), Matthew (Karen), Christopher (Cherry); and eleven grandchildren: Ben, Nate, Addie, Miranda, Mackenzie, Devlin, Alana, Jackson, Gabriel, Madison, and William. Bill was born in Bowman, North Dakota, and was preceded in death by his parents Milford Sylvester Byrne and Sarah Alberta Patterson, and his siblings Dorothy, Tom, and Patricia. He graduated from the University of ND-Grand Forks and Harvard Medical School. He and Jan were married in 1954, and they spent two years in France where Bill was a flight surgeon in the US Air Force. Bill was a family practitioner in Amery for 40 years where he delivered over 1500 babies. He was an avid athlete, a tennis champ, and could be found golfing, skiing, deer hunting, and swimming; his ping pong prowess was legendary. The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 14, 11 AM at the Farley Funeral Home in Venice with a luncheon following at the Woodland Trails pool. His ashes will be interred at the Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Philanthropy Dept, Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota FL 34238 or to a favorite charity of your choice.
