George F. Barker, 87, of North Port, formerly of North Miami Beach, FL and Colrain, NC, died February 22, 2012. George was born December 8, 1924 in Colrain, NC. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; grandchildren: Blake and Alexandra Coe of North Port; sister, Jeanette Copeland of Virginia Beach, VA. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM, March 1 at Farley Funeral Home, North Port Chapel. Memorial Donations may be made to the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy, (R-124), University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, P.O. Box 016960,Miami, Florida 33101.
