Mary Margaret Hartsock Brown, age 90, of Venice, Florida, passed away on December 13, 2011. She was born on January 27, 1921 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Brown was the beloved wife of James Francis Brown, her husband of 61 years, who preceded her in death July 2011. Mary was a graduate of Altoona High School in 1939 and received a secretarial degree from the Zeth Business School in Altoona. She was also a member of the Council of Catholic Women, the Epiphany Cathedral, and Capri Isles Golf Club. Mary is survived by many who loved her and will miss her; a sister, Alice Jane Rudolph of Altoona, PA; a brother, Robert J. (Margie) Hartsock, M.D. of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister-in-law, Jeannetta (Ralph) Calvert of Ocala, Fl; three nieces, Patty (Steve) Delin of Plano, TX, Mary Beth (Charles) Edmonds, O.D. of Tucson, AZ, Alice Anne (Jack) Rowley of Pittsburgh, PA; seven nephews, David (Jody) Calvert of Findley Lake, NY, Alan Calvert of California, Tom Hartsock of Pittsburgh, PA, Rob (Carrie) Hartsock, O.D. of Pittsburgh, PA, Randy (Cara) Hartsock of Pittsburgh, PA, Tom (Nancy) Rudolph of Harrisburg, PA and Michael (Margie) Rudolph of Altoona, PA. She also was preceded in death by two brothers; Thomas P. Hartsock and Lt. John R. Hartsock; a brother-in-law, Charles J. Rudolph, a sister-in-law, Florine Brown, and her parents, Margaret E. Dixon Hartsock and Thomas L. Hartsock. A 10:00 A.M. Requiem mass will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice followed by a burial service at noon at the Sarasota National Cemetery. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
