Elliott G. Schell, age 90, of Venice, Florida, passed away on October 13, 2011. He was born on August 8, 1921 in Rutherford, New Jersey. Elliott worked for New Jersey Bell for 36 years and retired in 1982 and moved to Venice, Florida. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Venice, Telephone Pioneers, former board of directors with Venice Little Theatre, Lions Club and Hospital Volunteers of Venice. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Elliott is survived by his wife of 17 Years, Deneen of Venice; a daughter, Lynne DeBeer of Tiverton, Rhode Island and a son, Wayne Schell of Venice. He also leaves behind a loving grandson, Christopher Schell of Paramus, New Jersey. A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow in the church gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238 or to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Music Fund, 790 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, Florida 34285. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
