John R. Porreca, age 81 of North Port, Florida and formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 17, 2011. He was born on January 16, 1930 to Romeo and Lena Porreca. John graduated from St. Patrick’s grade school and Erie Tech. He was a former market owner, real estate agent and builder in conjunction with Rose Construction Company in Erie. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Noonan) Porreca of North Port, Florida; a daughter, Sharon (James) Hough of Austin, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Tracie Harvey, Matthew (Kristen) Hough and two great-grandchildren, Sabine & Rowan Harvey. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. There are no services planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Erie. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
