Benjamin J. Koester, 89, of Fort Myers, FL, formerly of Venice, FL died on September 3, 2011. Ben was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army and a former member of Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL. He was also a member of the VFW Post 8118 and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Venice, FL. Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia Ewald of Fort Myers, FL, Robin (Stanley) Epperly of Fort Ogden, FL, Janice (William) Schmitz of Arcadia, FL, and Debbie Armstrong of Naples, FL; brother Emil Koester of Bloomfield Hills, MI; sister Rose Mary Schroeder of St. Charles, MI; eleven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Nora Mae Koester, his daughter, Sharon Cromwell, grandson Tate Cromwell, and son-in-law Ronald Ewald.
