John W. Sherwood, age 77, of Venice and Newland, NC, died on August 16, 2011. He was born in South Elgin, Illinois, and came to Venice in 1991. John was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and he enjoyed playing tennis and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay; sons David of Venice, Richard of Greensboro, NC, and Jeff of Hanover Park, IL; and 4 grandchildren, Jonathan, Courtney, Matt, and his best buddy, Ryan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra.
