Michael Lawrence Ruane, M.D. 85, of Venice, FL, formerly of Mt. Prospect, IL, died on August 15, 2011. Michael practiced medicine for over 50 years in Mt. Prospect, IL and Bradenton, FL. Michael had his own airplane and loved to fly, read, and play golf. He was a submarine Navy veteran in WWII. Survivors include his wife, Joan, of Venice, FL; children, Kay Ruane-Bolin of Cambridge, MA, Lawrence Michael Ruane of Parker, CO, Dr. Tom Ruane of Venice, FL, Beth Caliguire of Bradenton, FL, Patrick Ruane of Geneva, IL, Marnie Keller of Cape Coral, FL, and Colleen Lynn of Sarasota, FL; siblings Pat Carl of Arlington Heights, IL, Jim Ruane of Cape Coral, FL, John Ruane of Chicago, IL, and Maryann Dean of Algonquin, IL; and 14 grandchildren.
