Elmer W. Cullers, Jr., 91, of Boca Grande, FL, formerly of El Paso, TX died June 1, 2011. Elmer was born December 31, 1919 in Clara, TX to Elsie (Stanley) and Elmer W. Cullers. He graduated from Texas A&M College in 1940 with a B.A. in Economics and Accounting. He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army, having served in WWII and Korea where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star. Elmer started his home building business in El Paso in 1959 and eventually expanded his operations to Phoenix, Austin, Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Elmer served on the Board of Directors of the American Bank of Commerce. He retired and moved to Boca Grande in 1993. Elmer was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Cullers. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children: James (Jane) Cullers of Austin, TX, John (Adriana) Cullers and Kathleen Blancas, all of El Paso, TX; Karen (Jerry) Scott of Morgan Mill, TX; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and sister, Jerry Duncan of Austin, TX.
