Samuel L. Neel
October 18th, 1939 - June 1st, 2011
Sam was born in Boggstown, IN on October 18, 1939. He and his family moved to Nokomis, FL in 1980. He was a state certified general contractor and co-owner of Cabinetree Construction in Venice with his nephew Randy Ross. Sam loved to play pool, woodworking, his 1971 Monte Carlo and watching college football – especially FSU. He served his country in the US Air Force. Sam was a member of the First Generation Monte Carlo Car Club. Sam is survived by his wife of 44 years, Leilani, daughter Amanda Hampshire and son in law Mark; was PaPa Sam to his granddaughters Katelyn, 5, and Madelyn, 3, of Venice, FL; sister Mable (Paul) Ross of Pleasant View, IN; nephew Randy (Tina) Ross of Venice; mother in law Ivamae Wright of Nokomis; brothers in law Steve Wright of Nokomis, and Bill (Shannon) Wright of Shelbyville, IN; and many nieces and nephews and very good friends. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Virginia Neel; brother Paul Neel and sister Maryellen Jenkins. Sam was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
