Dominick Joseph Cardillo
September 25th, 1914 - April 27th, 2011
Dominick Joseph Cardillo, 96, of Venice, FL, formerly of Garwood and Westfield, NJ passed away April 27, 2011 after a brief illness. Dominick was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus and a founding member of Msgr. John M. Walsh Council #5437 in Garwood, NJ, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. He was also a former Trustee of St. Anne’s Church in Garwood, NJ. Dominick worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 41 years, serving as a mail carrier and retiring as Postmaster, all earned positions. He served his country during WW II in the US Army, where he received the Purple Heart for injuries received in combat. Preceded in death by 3 sisters and a brother, Dominick is survived by his beloved wife Anne, loving daughter Linda and son-in-law Anthony Pacchiano of New Vernon, NJ, sisters Jenny Read of Cinnaminson, NJ & Annette Griffin of Westfield, NJ, sister-in-law Vera Beck, brother-in-law Charles Beck, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 pm Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with entombment following in Venice Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association. Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel has been selected to care for arrangements.
