Carmela T. Paolillo passed away peacefully on March 19, 2011 at the age of 102. She was born on July 8, 1908 in New Haven, CT and was the last of eight siblings. Carmela was predeceased by her husband Gabriel Charles. She was the loving and devoted mother of Richard, Robert, Ann, and Ronald Paolillo and the beloved mother-in-law to Raymond Smialek and Lynn and Lindsey Paolillo. Carmela had five grandchildren, Cynthia Paolillo, Richard C. Paolillo, Mark Paolillo, Matthew Paolillo, and Tammy Hart. She also had nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Before her marriage she was an accomplished furrier and managed a fur salon in her native New Haven. She will always be remembered for her insight and wisdom and willingness to give advice to anyone in need. The hallmarks of her life were her dedication to God and family above all. Carmela’s smile would light her surroundings and her caring nature attracted friends wherever she went. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
