Evelyn Dorothy Blanchong, age 87, of North Port, died on April 11, 2010. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 30, 1923, and came to North Port in 1997 from Marblehead, Ohio. Evelyn enjoyed crafts and was an active member of the La Casa Homeowners Association in North Port. She played the organ for many La Casa events, including the La Casa Harmonic Group. In Marblehead, she played the organ for the Marine City Yacht Club Sunday services. Surviving family members include nieces and nephews Carol Jackson of Glen Ellyn, IL, James Buck of Chesapeake, VA, Ronald Buck of Naperville, IL, Donna Carraher of Munster, IN, Kenneth Buck of Little Canada, MN, and Marilyn Gaines of Trafalgar, IN. She also leaves many dear friends with whom she shared fond memories at La Casa and in Toledo and Marblehead, Ohio. Burial will be private at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
