Joseph A. Anthony, 90, of Venice, FL, formerly of Traverse City, MI, died on March 19, 2010. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he loved his family very much. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired as Vice President of Manufacturing Mercury Marine with Brunswick Corporation after 53 years. He was a member of Venice-Nokomis United Methodist Church Men’s Club and Endowment Fund, Rotary Club, and was a Venice Symphony Board Member. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Edwina Anthony, of Venice, FL; daughters Jane (Lee) Juett of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Gunnel Pettersson of Stockholm, Sweden; sons Dr. Robert (Diane) Anthony of Grand Rapids, MI and Tom (Beth) Anthony of Muskegon, MI; five grandchildren, Hilary (Ken) Anthony-Sondik, Jessica (Dave) Anthony-Pruden, Andrew Juett, Jesse Juett, and David Mayer; and four great grandchildren, Jane P. Juett, Ryan Juett, Charlie Sondik, and Anna Pruden.
