George S. Robinson, age 85, of North Port, Fl died on January 26, 2010. He was born in Tyrone Township, Michigan on June 16, 1924. George was a WWII Army veteran who stayed in Europe after the war had ended to transport prisoners from POW camps. He was a truck driver and retired from Hercules Corporation, Williamston, Michigan in 1985. He loved to fish and he was a member of the West Locke Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, also of North Port; daughters Marilyn LaBallister of North Port, Karen Thompson of Kalamazoo, MI and Lou Ann Kirtley of Williamston, MI; sister Bernice Combs; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be held at a later date in Michigan. Memorial donations can be made to TideWell Hospice of Southwest Florida. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
