Dora May (Marsh) Newell, age 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on December 20, 2009. She was born on May 12, 1927 in Harvey, Louisiana. She retired as a clerk from the United States Government. She moved to Port Charlotte ten years ago from Vienna, West Virginia. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Greg) Miller of Port Charlotte, Florida, Susan (Dan) Marsh, Karen (Billy) Belt both of Cincinnati, Ohio; a son, Col. James (Cindy) Marsh of Tampa, Florida; a sister, Angelina (Stanley)Anderson of Jennings, Louisiana; a brother, Jules Centanni of New Orleans, Louisiana; seven grandchildren, Amanda Hancock, Chris Miller, Jason Marsh, Sara Wertman, Emily Wertman, Zach Belt, Jake Belt and two great-grandchildren, Jordon Hancock and Dylan Hancock. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Marsh in 1985, Orlan Newell in 2003; a sister, Lillian Smith and a brother, Anthony Centanni. A visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home in North Port on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 3:00-3:30PM with a service to immediately to follow. Burial will be held in Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2701 Maitland Ctr. Parkway, Ste. 100, Orlando, Florida 32751. Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida is handling the arrangements.
