Ben Frank Ventress, Sr., age 85, of Venice, FL died on August 31, 2009. He was born in Louisville, Alabama on December 31, 1923. After Ben graduated from Auburn University he earned his DDS from Emory University in Atlanta. He served in the Navy as a dentist, then entered private practice in the Buckhead section of Atlanta. After he retired from dentistry, he and his wife Ann were the proprietors of the Dunlap House, a Bed and Breakfast in Gainesville, Georgia. Since Ben’s move to Venice, he has been an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. Outside of church activities, he was enjoyed both his camera and computer. Surviving family members include his wife, Ann of Venice; daughters Kathy Smith and Frances Harriman; sons Ben Ventress, Jr. and John B. Ventress; stepchildren Rich, Larry, and Alan Stewart; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
