Marilyn A. Rose, 79, of Venice, FL passed away peacefully on July 31, 2009. She was born on October 6, 1929 in Everett, MA, and lived in 6 states before retiring to Venice in 1990. Since 1968, she was active in Sweet Adelines International, as a chorus member, international judge, director of the Sarasota Chorus, and assistant director and member of the Spirit of the Gulf Chorus. In 2009, she was awarded the title of International Judge Emerita. She is survived by Ken Rose, her loving husband of 57 years; her daughter Meryll Elkins (husband Dan); her son Peter J. Rose; granddaughter Lauren Hayes (husband Matt) and grandson Kevin Elkins.
