Miriam K. Johnson Wrobel, age 85, of Venice, died on June 25, 2009. She was born in Rudyard, Michigan (Upper Peninsula) on March 28, 1924. Her family moved to the Manistique area where they had a dairy farm. Miriam came to Detroit and worked in a defense plant until the end of WWII. She met and married Cass and they have celebrated 63 anniversaries. Miriam had three children: Bruce, Brian who is married to Sharon Mikkelson, and Cindy who is married to Jim Sokolik; two grandchildren – Gwen, who lives in California and Jake who lives in Michigan. Miriam and Cass lived in the Detroit area until retirement. Miriam worked as a bookkeeper for an apartment management company, retiring in 1985. The moved to Venice, Florida and became Florida residents in 1991 and still enjoyed summers in Michigan.
