Robert J. Sauer, 79, Venice, FL died March 25, 2009. He was born February 10, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN and came to Venice in 1972. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Bob worked for the Sarasota County School Board as a bus driver. He was preceded in death by siblings Maxine Whittaker, Norma Fisher and Eugene Sauer. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy; children: Joseph (Linda) Sauer of North Port, Paul Sauer of Venice, Bill Sauer of Venice, Dennis Sauer (Karen George) of North Port, Linda (Rick) Coble of North Port and Pattie (John) Herb of Lehigh Acres, FL; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Sauer of Indianapolis and sister, Eloise Gormally of Hubbard, Nebraska; and best friend and brother-in-law, David Fisher of North Port.
