Brandon May, 22, of North Port, died Friday February 27, 2009. Brandon was born in Punta Gorda, FL on July 20, 1986. He was born with beta strep leading to spinal meningitis. After surviving this deadly disease with only a few if not depilating side affects, Brandon was able to attend public school. While attending North Port High School where he enjoyed helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity, at the age of 18 he was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma a soft tissue cancer. With the help of All Children’s Hospital and doctors from Moffitt Cancer center and a lot of chemotherapy Brandon retuned to North Port High School. There he also attended SCTI in Sarasota where he studied marine mechanics. He was a 2005 graduate. Brandon was a avid fisherman which he enjoyed. Brandon was the son of Deanna and Tim, brother to Amber and Dexter, uncle to Jasmine, Jason and Cleo; grandson of Jack and Daisy May and of Ray and Dixie Meyers; nephew of Tony Meyers, Ken Meyers and Ken May.
