John Thomas Meyers, 87 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away January 13, 2009 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. John was born August 9, 1921 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Thomas H. and Mary (Ittner) Meyers. John and his wife Frances came to Florida from Baltimore in 1978 after his retirement from the United States Army where he was a First Sergeant. John’s memberships include San Pedro Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus Council #7997 of North Port, and he served as a Eucharist Minister for 11 years. John is survived by his wife Frances of Port Charlotte, FL; daughters, Yvonne Branham of Pennsylvania, Valerie Glacken and Karen Gorsche both of Baltimore, MD, Frances Nally of Westminster, MD, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
