Leona C. McKoy

Leona C. (Larsen) McKoy, nee: Windstrup, 94, of Venice, Florida died Sunday, November 23, 2008. Leona was born on June 28, 1914 in Racine, WI to John and Christina (Olsen) Windstrup. Leona was married to Werner P. Larsen who passed away in 1946. She married S.G. (Mac) McKoy in 1965 and relocated to Miami Beach until 1977 when they moved to Venice, FL. She participated with her husband in the ownership of Bradley’s Department Store in Delavan, WI for 20 years. They also owned race horses for several years and she looked forward to attending horse races until almost a year prior to her death. Leona’s family was her first love and concern and she was always “there” when needed. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Brown of Nokomis, FL; daughter-in-law, Gail Larsen of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Kristopher (Ericka) Feigel of Gainesville, FL; Karl (Denise) Feigel of Land O’Lakes, FL; Lori Treder of Racine, WI; Lisa Wasserman of Venice, FL; Kimberly (Bob) Neumann of Racine, WI; Robert (Julie) Larsen of Tampa, FL; her favorite niece, Bonnie Ayers of Racine, WI; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Werner P. Larsen and S.G. (Mac) McKoy; dear son, Werner J. Larsen; and grandson Michael Krogh.
