James & Natalie were helpful in bringing our family closure. After almost 30 years we were able to place the headstone for my mom. James was communicative through the process and Natalie was present the day of placement. Thank you for the compassion.

In the middle of March, my husband suddenly passed away without warning. My family and I were thrown into territory we had never been before; a nightmare that was achingly real and tragic on so many levels. We worked with the local Funeral Home in regards to his cremation and began to make plans to have him buried at Willamette Valley National Cemetery. Each step of the process soon became a struggle, a series of missteps that began to erode our trust in their competence. It became more and more difficult to find the proper paperwork, to get to a real person on the phone, to have phone calls returned, and so on and so forth. My frustration was mounting and I was ready to throw in the towel. I simply needed someone to advocate on my behalf. And then something really great happened. I began to receive emails, texts, and phone calls from a woman named Catherine Coleman. This woman was kind, reassuring, professional, caring, compassionate and never once promised me something she could not deliver. She took over my case file and told me she would do everything she could to help me through the process. She did research for me, made phone calls, got through to people I was having trouble dealing with, arranged 3 way phone calls and made sure I was copied on all correspondence. Her help with the VA was truly a God send to me and my family. She daily held out her hand in support and encouragement, praying for my family and I and always making us feel validated, heard and worthy of her time. Catherine is someone I wish every grieving family could know and have the opportunity to work with during these horrible times of grief and uncertainty. She truly has a heart that understands the grief process and is not afraid to walk through it with you, even during your ugliest moments. I am so grateful for her enormous heart and character, her willingness to go one step further whenever it’s needed. I may never have the opportunity to meet her in person, but I will never forget her. Thank you, Catherine, from the bottom of my heart. Valerie Bretz & Family
