Some topics are tough to bring up, and death tends to top the list. As end-of-life professionals, we believe that the more we discuss death, the more we understand life. That’s why we’ve launched Conversations about Death, a new video series featuring honest, compassionate conversations with people who know this subject well.

This isn’t a lecture series or a sales pitch. It’s a real conversation between real people: hospice professionals, grief counselors, funeral directors, mental health advocates, and others who work with families every day. Their insights come from experience, not theory. And while the topics are serious, the tone is anything but grim. In fact, in the first episode, one of our guests shares how laughter can be one of the most powerful tools for healing.

Whether you’re grieving, planning ahead, or simply curious, this series is for anyone who’s ever asked, “Is it weird to talk about this?” (It’s not.)

What We Talk About

Conversations about Death explores a range of topics with warmth and clarity, including:

  • Why people avoid talking about death
  • What happens when we don’t talk about death
  • What makes a “good” death, and how to support someone at the end of life
  • How grief shows up in everyday life and how we can honor it
  • Why planning ahead isn’t morbid, but one of the most loving gifts you can leave your family

Each episode brings new voices to the table, offering a fresh perspective while keeping the conversation grounded and approachable.

Why We’re Having this Conversation

Over the years, we’ve seen firsthand how meaningful these conversations can be, and how rare they are in day-to-day life. Too often, people avoid talking about death until they’re in the middle of a crisis. That’s when emotions run high and decisions are hardest to make.

This series is an invitation to start the conversation now. Our guests come from a wide range of backgrounds, but they all share a common goal: helping people feel more informed and less alone when it comes to death, dying, and grief.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t even need to be ready to plan. Simply showing up, listening, and considering what matters to you and your loved ones is a powerful first step.

What You’ll Take Away

You might come away with new ideas, a sense of relief, or a lighter heart. You might learn what questions to ask your family, what planning ahead really looks like, or how others have found comfort in the most difficult moments.

Our goal isn’t to give you a checklist. It’s to give you space to think, reflect, and connect. Because death isn’t just about endings. It’s about meaning, legacy, love, and being present with the people who matter most.
